Our Grandfather
Tom Pappas rented the basement #67 at South Water Market.
Early Operations
They would receive the stems of bananas from railroad cars then send them down through a manhole.

Our Father’s Involvement
Dean Pappas joined our Grandfather.

Todd Pappas Joined Panama
Todd Pappas joined the family business and then added pineapple and avocados to our product list.
1986
Deke Pappas Joined Panama
Deke Pappas expanded Panama into full line tropicals.
1999
We Acquired Our Father’s Ownership Stake In The Business
We expanded to own three stalls in the same location.
2003
Move to New Market
In 2003, we moved to a modern facility with ripening rooms and cold storage.
2011
Square-Footage Expansion
Acquired Units 32 and 33, increasing our operational capacity; Our total number of units now stands at 5.

Nick Florek Joins Panama
Nick adds full line of fruits and vegetables.
